How to use Mineral Fix
A step by step guide to convert your hot tub into a natural Mineral Fix spa
Your hot tub water will only be as clean as the tub itself so the first step is to get it as clean as possible.
Before draining your hot tub, the pipes need to be cleaned. We recommend a citric acid treatment like our Mineral Fix Spa Deep Cleaner.
Once the treatment has soaked for ~48 hours, the hot tub is ready to be drained and refilled. Empty the tub completely and wipe down all surfaces. Run water through the filtration system to flush out any loose debris in the pipes.
Now refill the hot tub with clean water!
After the the cleaned hot tub is refilled, it's important to treat the water so that it remains clean as well.
Optional: Shock the water with Chlorine to kill all bacteria
Add Mineral Fix Spa Treatment directly into the water. Use the full bottle for a standard hot tub (450-600 gallons) or use the calculator to determine how much you need.
Note: The spa treatment is a green color, any discoloration of the water will fade after about 24 hours
Mineral Fix works by grouping impurities in the water so that they can be filtered out by your hot tub filters. It's important to maintain new, clean filters.
After the initial water treatment, clean the filters 2-3 days later by hosing them. Clean as needed going forward
Your hot tub is now a Mineral Fix treated spa, but adding enzymes can further improve your water quality.
